About us

Sticky Guardian Digital Literacy Association is a federal not-for-profit corporation formed to teach older adults about artificial intelligence — what it is, how to use it, and how to recognise the fraud that now uses it.

Why we exist

Demand for these tools has risen faster than anyone has bothered to explain them, and the people left furthest behind are the ones most targeted by the people misusing them. Older adults are the primary target of voice-cloning fraud and the least likely to have had anyone sit down and show them how any of it works.

Almost everything written to explain artificial intelligence is written by people in their thirties for people in their thirties. Our director is seventy-eight and learned this material the hard way, which is the reason the classes are shaped the way they are: one idea at a time, on your own device, with nobody made to feel slow for asking twice.

What we do

Free eight-week courses, delivered in person at senior centres, libraries and community rooms. Printed take-home material in large type. A free public page on AI-enabled scams that anyone can read without attending anything.

How we handle your information

If you sign up for a class we ask for your name and a way to reach you, so we know how many chairs to set out and can tell you if a date moves. That is all we keep and that is all we use it for.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share the list of people who attend our classes with any person, business, or organisation. We do not use it to market anything to you. Write to us and we will remove you.

How we are funded

The Association is funded by donations, grants, and in-kind support. It does not sell products or services to the people it teaches, and the classes are not a route to a paid product of any kind.
